Jerky stops disappear thanks to the TriFlex NEXT’s built-in 3-axis accelerometer. It senses how fast your tow vehicle slows down and applies your trailer brakes in perfect proportion. If you brake lightly, the trailer eases in; if you stomp on the pedal, it matches that force instantly. That balance keeps braking smooth and steady across all conditions. It works with up to 4 axles (8 brake assemblies) and supports both electric and electric-over-hydraulic brake systems.
Space is tight under a modern dash, but this controller fits right in. The unit mounts flush with the included bracket and sits just 1" thick, so it doesn’t knock your knees or clutter up the cab. Automatic leveling means it can mount at nearly any angle as long as you can reach the manual override trigger. The plug-in connection makes installation straightforward when using a vehicle-specific adapter harness.
Dial in exactly how your trailer responds using two simple rockers. The gray rocker sets maximum braking output from 0.5 to 9.9 in 0.5 increments, while the black rocker adjusts how aggressively the brakes reach that output on a scale of 1 to 9. Higher load settings stop heavier trailers faster; lower settings keep lighter trailers from jerking you forward. Once set, the controller remembers your adjustments for consistent performance.
The bright LED display shows gain levels, sensitivity settings, and diagnostic codes so you always know what’s happening with your trailer brakes. You can dim it or turn on night mode to cut glare on evening drives. Full text readouts make troubleshooting straightforward without digging through menus or flashing light patterns.
The TriFlex NEXT constantly monitors for shorts or wiring faults and protects against reversed polarity or power surges. It even prevents brake overheating during long stops by reducing power output after a few seconds of hold time. After five minutes of inactivity, it slips into sleep mode to minimize battery draw, then wakes up instantly when you hit the brakes again.

The curt tri-flex was easily connected to my Lexus GX-460 with the adapter plug-in cable and worked great. We pulled a 4500 lb travel trailer with our GX-470 with great braking.
Works as it should. Installed to the right of my right knee on a 2020 Ram 1500 bighorn 4x4, crew, 6.5’ bed to haul a dual axle camper.
I'm sure the brake controller will be fine, haven't installed it yet. But the shipping took ridiculously long, even though I paid a little extra for what to thought was upgraded shipping. It was a lot longer than the website said it would be when I ordered.

This was easy to install easy to calibrate and delivers great braking for my 5th wheel camper. I originally purchased a product from another company that just didn't work right. I ether had no trailer brakes or they grabbed really hard. It was similar in design to the curt Triflex so I was skeptical at first. I called etrailer to make sure and after checking with tech was assured it was the right application. I appreciate having someone to answer my questions and concerns. No need to purchase anywhere else.

Brake controller is all plastic, screen is ok, broke after the second use, would not turn on/work and then randomly the brake lights started turning on when no one was in my vehicle and key was out. After 3 weeks etrailer warranted it and I got a new one.
Outstanding product is everything we expected from easy to connect and display in the truck. Great to have when necessary too.

This unit took less than 10 minutes to install and works flawlessly with my Grand Cherokee while pulling a Travel Trailer. Plus its low profile design made it easy to install by the hood release so I don't have a big box and display on top of my dashboard. Great product at the right price. Arrived as planed and was much smaller then my old clunky one. The custom cable harness was easy to install. Finding a flat spot to mount the controller took the longest to find the perfect spot. I gave a five stars because every was as it said. (Plug and play)
Works well. The connector I got from e trailer which fits other older model Audi’s wasn’t listed to fit the 2024 Audi but fit perfectly. The Curt Triflex is an easy to use brake controller. Highly recommend!

Took a while to figure it out. Have a 2003 Dodge van. Had to tow in package but didn’t have any wiring factory installed other than for the seven way. Paul it was great identifying what I need and sending it to me. Thank you very much.
This is a new model of the Curt TriFlex brake controller. As a replacement for the previous unit, it was nice to be able to install it without rewiring. The new model has a more modern style digital display that is easier to read and less annoying. The button controls are a bit less obvious than the previous model, so it takes a little effort to figure out how to adjust the system. Overall, I think it's a better unit that the previous models.
